Welcome to Moree, the vibrant hub of the Shire! This lively town is surrounded by charming villages, including Ashley, Biniguy, Boggabilla, Boomi, Bullarah, Garah, Gurley, Mungindi, Pallamallawa, Terry Hie Hie, Toomelah, and Weemelah.
On the banks of the Gwydir and Mehi Rivers, Moree is a bustling town with 9,346 residents and the popular Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre.
Ashley: Just 17 km north of Moree, Ashley is a friendly village with a park, play area, and Rural Fire Service. It's also a key spot for cotton production.
Biniguy: Known for its delicious pecan nuts, Biniguy is home to the Southern Hemisphere’s largest pecan farm, Trawalla Pecan Farm. It’s 40 km east of Moree and a hub for agriculture.
Boggabilla: About 115 km north of Moree, Boggabilla features the famous Wobbly Boot Hotel, a school, TAFE, and several local businesses. Nearby is the Toomelah community and the scenic Boobera Lagoon.
