QUIRINDI SILO ART

Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of the Liverpool Plains, Quirindi’s silos have been transformed into towering canvasses telling stories of Quirindi and its people.

Quirindi Silo Art project was born from a shared vision to celebrate the beauty of rural life and honor the hardworking communities that sustain it. These towering silos in the middle of the township have become iconic landmarks, showcasing the spirit of Quirindi to the world. It tells the unique story of Quirindi’s past, present and future. From the dreamtime story of the Kamilaroi people to the rich farming heritage and the arrival of the railway line, Perth artist Peter Ryan captured the diversity and resilience of rural Australia and the spirit of the farmers, the families and the traditions that shape this vibrant community.

The silo art is complimented by a path that winds around comfortable viewing lounges, picnic tables and interpretative signage and along a line of pipes that indicate how much rain Quirindi has received since the silos have been built.

To differentiate the Quirindi Silo Art from other Silo Art attractions, Peter Ryan’s artwork comes to life at night in a stunning Light and Sound Show created by Illuminart. After a 20 minute count-down, the show starts telling the dreamtime story, followed by showcasing the area. The show changes once a year, and special segments are added for special occasions, so it is well worth a repeat visit!

The Light and Sound Show is on every night, from 7.00pm during winter time and 8.30pm during day-light-saving time. The show goes for 20 minutes and shows twice with a 5-minute interval.
