FOUR MILE RESERVE
An idyllic riverside retreat on the banks of the Barwon, with rugged landscapes and ample free camping space.
Spanning almost 30 acres, this prime river frontage offers not only a serene setting for a night under the stars, the perfect place to drop in a line or cool off in the calm, fresh waters but also holds deep cultural significance.
Dreaming stories tell us the Rainbow Serpent, Wawei, travelled across the landscape creating the river, and then came to rest at the bend in the river where the water reaches its deepest depth – what we know today as Four Mile.
The cultural significance, the river’s deep stillness and the ever-flowing waters that have long sustained the community all combine to make this place truly extraordinary.
